Traumatic Diaphragm Hernia Repair
Haley Leesley, MD, Gal Levy, Roman Petrov.
UTMB-Galveston, Galveston, TX, USA.

BACKGROUND: 54 year old incarcerated male with longstanding traumatic diaphragm hernia repair presented with progressive shortness of breath. This was repaired with an endoscopic anterior component separation, followed by right thoracotomy, reduction of abdominal contents, and placement of mesh. Endoscopic anterior component separation is a relatively quick procedure, with low morbidity and can be used to treat and/or prevent abdominal compartment syndrome in large volume hernias.
