ISMICS Faculty & Presenting Author FAQ

Q: As an abstract presenter, how much time do I have to present?
A: If you are presenting in the Cardiac Track, the length of time you have allotted to your presentation is in your original acceptance email. If you are presenting in the Thoracic Track (T#), each presentation is being offered six (6) minutes for your presentation, followed by an additional four (4) minutes of open discussion from the audience, for a total of 10 minutes.

Q: As an Invited Speaker, how much time do I have to present?
A: If you are presenting in the Cardiac Track, the length of time you have allotted to your presentation is in your original invitation email.

Thoracic Invited Speaker Masters Session:
Each presentation is being offered five (5) minutes for your presentation, followed by an additional three (3) minutes of open discussion from the audience, for a total of 8 minutes.

Thoracic Moderator Introductions:
Each Moderator introduction is being offered five (5) minutes for your welcome and introduction, with a maximum of 5 slides to share.

Thoracic Video Session:
Each presentation is being offered six (6) minutes for your presentation, followed by an additional four (4) minutes of open discussion from the audience, for a total of 10 minutes.

Q: How do I submit my pre-recorded talk? When does it have to be submitted by?
A: Your presentation will be pre-recorded and will be played during the Virtual Meeting. The presentation will conclude with a live discussion with the attendees and yourself, facilitated by the co-moderators of your session. Full instructions have been created on how to record and submit your presentation. We ask that you use the ISMICS Zoom virtual background during your presentation. In order to participate in the ISMICS Virtual Meeting, pre-recorded videos must be submitted by Friday, 14 May 2021.

Q: As a presenter and/or faculty, am I required to register?
A: All participating faculty and presenting authors are required to register for the 21 ISMICS REIMAGINED Virtual Meeting. Registration is available on the ISMICS Website.

Q: As a presenter how do I login to the meeting? Do I need to be on before my presentation?
A: You will receive special instructions via email on how to login and participate in the live discussion piece of your presentation.

Q: Once my pre-recorded talk is submitted can I make any edits? Can we change our presenting author?
A: You must upload your final draft of your pre-recorded presentation and are not able to make any edits to it. We need to edit each of the prerecorded presentations for playback during the virtual meeting. We are not able to do that more than once. Should the author that is answering the live questions from the audience change, you must notify the ISMICS Administrative Offices as soon as possible.

Q: I have an ePoster in the Poster Competition and / or as a Display Poster and I have questions about submitting.
