Minimal Acccess Double Patch Repair Of Superior Sinus Venosus Atrial Septal Defect

OBJECTIVE: Minimal access double patch repair of superior sinus venosus atrial septal defect and repair of tricuspid valve.
METHODS: Use of right internal jugular vein and right common femoral vein for venous cannulation. The right common femoral artery was used for arterial cannulation. An endoclamp aortic catheter was applied and 900mls of cardioplegia used. Bypass time 171 minutes and cross clamp time 100 minutes. Bovine pericardium used for patch repair.
RESULTS: Patient was discharged home on postoperative day 4.
CONCLUSIONS: Successful repair of superior sinus venous atrial septal defect using a minimal access approach.
