OBJECTIVE:
To report our minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (MIAVR) technique via right minithoracotomy with Perceval sutureless valve.
METHODS:
A skin incision of 7 cm placed on the second intercostal space was performed. Cardiopulmonary bypass was achived by direct ascending aortic cannulation and percutaneous venous cannulation.
RESULTS:
After debridement of the native aortic valve, MIAVR was performed with a Perceval sutureless valve mounted in a nitinol stent. Cardiopulmonary bypass time and aortic cross clamp were 38 and 57 minutes, respectively. Intraoperative transesophageal echocardiogram showed good bioprosthesis function with no perivalvular leak.
CONCLUSIONS:Minimally invasive aortic valve replacement via right mini thoracotomy with Perceval sutureless valve is a safe and reproducible approach, which allow to safe operative times in high risk patients.
